Heavy Duty Sticky Mat for Construction Dust Control

SKU : SK-ST-HD

SKESD Heavy Duty Sticky Mat is a disposable high-tack peel-off mat designed for construction, renovation and facility build-out entrances where work boots, tool carts and wheeled equipment can carry dust and loose debris into cleaner areas.

The mat uses 35–50 μm LDPE peel-off film with a high-tack water-based acrylic adhesive to capture drywall dust, sawdust, fine dirt, grit and other loose particles from footwear and wheels.

Available with 30 or 60 numbered peel-off layers, the mat allows contaminated surfaces to be removed individually. Once the exposed layer becomes heavily soiled or loses the required tack, it can be peeled away to reveal a fresh adhesive surface underneath.

This model is intended for projects where a higher-tack disposable construction is required compared with a standard cleanroom sticky mat.

Specification and Data

What Is a Heavy Duty Construction Sticky Mat?

A heavy duty construction sticky mat is a multi-layer adhesive floor mat installed at transition points where personnel and wheeled equipment move from dusty construction areas into cleaner finished or controlled spaces.

The adhesive surface is designed to capture loose contamination carried on:

  • Work boots
  • Safety footwear
  • Tool-cart wheels
  • Trolley casters
  • Mobile equipment
  • Construction-material carts

Typical contaminants include:

  • Drywall dust
  • Sawdust
  • Fine construction dust
  • Dry dirt
  • Fine grit
  • Loose particulate debris

Unlike washable entrance mats, this product uses disposable peel-off layers.

When the exposed layer becomes contaminated, it can be removed to immediately expose a new adhesive surface.

Why Use a Construction Sticky Mat?

Construction and renovation projects often create significant quantities of fine airborne and tracked dust.

Even when the primary work zone is separated from finished areas, particles can still be transferred by footwear and cart wheels.

A sticky mat installed at the transition point helps reduce this tracked contamination before personnel or equipment enter cleaner spaces.

The mat should be used as one component of a broader site dust-control or contamination-control procedure.

How to Install and Use Peel-Off Mats

Getting our sticky mat for construction set up is straightforward. You do not need bulky frames or special tools to start controlling dust immediately. We designed these peel-off adhesive mats for rapid deployment in fast-paced environments like renovation zones and site entrances.

Follow these simple steps for maximum effectiveness:

  • Prep the Floor: Wipe down the area to remove loose grit and moisture. The bottom adhesive needs a clean, dry surface to grip securely and prevent shifting under heavy boots.
  • Secure the Mat: Remove the bottom protective layer and press the mat flat against the floor, smoothing out any air bubbles to ensure a trip-free profile.
  • Peel and Refresh: As the surface fills with drywall dust and debris, simply pull the numbered corner tab to remove the saturated sheet.

The numbered tabs (typically 1–30 or 1–60) take the guesswork out of maintenance, letting you know exactly how many layers remain before you need a replacement. This Step N Peel design ensures a fresh, high-tack surface is always ready for the next crew, eliminating the need for washing or laundering.

FAQs About Construction Floor Protection Mats

Got questions about using tacky step mats on the job? We know that protecting a client’s property is just as important as the build itself. Here are the answers to the most common concerns we hear from site managers and contractors regarding our contamination control mats.

Will the adhesive damage finished floors?
No. We use a high-quality water-based acrylic adhesive on our construction tacky mats. It is engineered to grab dirt from work boots and cart wheels aggressively but releases cleanly from the floor surface. You can place these dust control floor mats on hardwood, tile, or concrete without worrying about leaving a sticky residue behind.

How do I track usage on a busy site?
We make it easy to monitor your inventory. Every 30-layer sticky mat features numbered corner tabs (counting down from 30 to 1). This allows your crew to peel exactly one sheet at a time and lets supervisors see at a glance how many layers remain before the mat needs replacing.

Can I use these mats on carpet?
Peel-off adhesive mats require a firm, flat surface to work effectively. If you are working in a carpeted area, we recommend placing the mat on top of a hardboard or a temporary runner. This ensures the step N peel mats lie flat, preventing tripping hazards while still capturing debris at the job site entrance.

Are the mats washable?
No, these are designed as disposable sticky pads for maximum efficiency. Washing a mat takes time and can spread contaminants. With our system, once a layer is saturated with sawdust or drywall dust, you simply Peel off the contaminated sheet to expose a fresh adhesive layer.
