Cleanroom Sticky Rollers & Tacky Rollers
SKESD manufactures and supplies cleanroom sticky rollers, tacky rollers and compatible roller handles for surface particle removal in cleanrooms, electronics manufacturing and controlled production environments.
Our sticky roller range includes:
- PE adhesive sticky rollers for manual surface cleaning
- PP adhesive sticky rollers for cleaning machines and production lines
- Washable silicone sticky rollers for reusable precision-surface cleaning
- Standard sticky roller handles
- Extendable sticky roller handles
Each roller type uses a different cleaning mechanism and is intended for a different operating method.
Choose the roller according to the surface, cleaning method, working width, tack requirement and equipment configuration rather than selecting only by material.

PE vs PP vs Silicone Sticky Rollers
PE adhesive sticky rollers are disposable rollers made with PE film and water-based acrylic adhesive. They are suitable for general cleanroom surface cleaning, PCB workbenches and equipment panels.
PP sticky rollers are often selected for machine use and wide-area particle removal in PCB, FPC, LCD and precision printing processes.
Silicone sticky rollers are washable and reusable. They are suitable for sensitive surfaces such as PCB, LCD, SMT components, stainless steel sheets and films where residue control and surface protection are important.
How Sticky Rollers Work
Different sticky roller types use different particle-removal mechanisms.
PE Manual Roller
Production Surface → Adhesive PE Film → Peel Away Used Film
The PE adhesive film contacts the surface and picks up loose dust, lint and particles.
When contaminated, the used section is peeled away.
PP Machine Roller
Product Surface → PP Adhesive Roll → Advance / Remove Used Film
The material passes through the cleaning machine and directly contacts the PP adhesive roller.
Contaminated adhesive film is advanced or removed according to the machine configuration.
Washable Silicone Roller
Product Surface → PDMS Silicone Roller → DCR Pad / Wash → Reuse
The silicone surface picks up loose particles.
Collected contamination can then be transferred to a DCR pad before the roller returns to service.
Silicone Sticky Rollers and DCR Pads
DCR pads are commonly used together with reusable silicone sticky rollers.
The typical cleaning sequence is:
Production Surface → Silicone Sticky Roller → DCR Pad
The silicone roller first picks up loose contamination from the production surface.
The roller is then passed across a compatible DCR pad so that particles transfer from the silicone surface to the adhesive pad.
This allows the silicone roller to continue working without washing after every cleaning pass.
When deeper cleaning is required, the roller can be washed according to the approved maintenance procedure.
Sticky Rollers vs. Sticky Mats
Sticky rollers and sticky mats serve different contamination-control functions.
Sticky Rollers
Used for direct surface particle removal, including:
- Workbenches
- Equipment panels
- PCB / FPC surfaces
- LCD / display materials
- Film
- Production surfaces
Sticky Mats
Used primarily at entrances and transition points to capture loose contamination from:
- Footwear
- Cart wheels
- Trolley casters
For entrance contamination control, view our Cleanroom Sticky Mats.
FAQ
What is the difference between PE, PP and silicone sticky rollers?
PE rollers are mainly used as disposable manual adhesive rollers.
PP rollers in the SKESD range are designed primarily for wide-format machine cleaning.
Silicone rollers use a washable reusable PDMS surface for compatible precision-surface cleaning.
What is the difference between a disposable and washable sticky roller?
A disposable roller uses adhesive film that is peeled, advanced or replaced after contamination.
A washable silicone roller uses a reusable tacky surface that can be cleaned and returned to use.
Do silicone sticky rollers need DCR pads?
A DCR pad can be used to transfer collected contamination from the silicone roller during routine cleaning.
What is the difference between SK-RL-H and SK-RHL?
SK-RL-H is a standard reusable handle for compatible 4–12 inch rollers.
SK-RHL is an extendable handle that starts at approximately 70 cm and extends to approximately 1.2 m.
