Cleanroom Pass Boxes & Pass Through Boxes

SKESD supplies cleanroom pass boxes, pass through boxes and material transfer chambers for cleanrooms, laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, semiconductor workshops, food processing areas and controlled environments. A pass box allows materials, tools and samples to be transferred between clean and non-clean areas while reducing unnecessary personnel movement and helping maintain cleanroom pressure control.

Available options include static pass boxes, dynamic pass boxes, stainless steel pass boxes, powder-coated pass boxes, UV pass boxes, HEPA pass boxes, air shower pass-through units, mechanical interlock systems, electronic interlock systems and custom-size cleanroom transfer hatches.

Static Pass Box vs Dynamic Pass Box

A static pass box is used for transferring materials between cleanrooms with the same or similar cleanliness level. It relies on airtight doors, gaskets and mechanical or electronic interlocks to prevent both doors from opening at the same time.

A dynamic pass box is used when materials need to be transferred from a lower-grade area into a higher-grade cleanroom. It can be equipped with FFU, HEPA or ULPA filtration and an air shower cycle to remove particles from material surfaces before the clean-side door opens.

Mechanical vs Electronic Interlock

The interlock system prevents both doors from opening at the same time, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and uncontrolled airflow. Mechanical interlocks are suitable for simple static pass boxes, while electronic interlocks are better for pass boxes with UV lamps, timers, FFU airflow or access control requirements.

FAQ

Q1: What is a cleanroom pass box?
A cleanroom pass box, also called a pass through box, pass-through chamber or pass through cabinet, is used to transfer materials between cleanroom areas while reducing unnecessary personnel movement and contamination risk.

Q2: What is the difference between a static pass box and a dynamic pass box?
A static pass box relies on airtight doors and interlocks for passive transfer. A dynamic pass box uses active airflow, FFU and HEPA / ULPA filtration to clean materials before entry into a higher-grade cleanroom.

Q3: What materials are available?
Available materials include powder-coated cold rolled steel, stainless steel, SUS201, SUS304 and customized options depending on the model.

Q4: What sizes are available?
Standard internal sizes include 400×400×400mm, 500×500×500mm, 600×600×600mm and 800×800×800mm, with custom sizes available depending on the wall opening and transfer requirements.

Q5: Should I choose mechanical or electronic interlock?
Mechanical interlock is suitable for simple static pass boxes. Electronic interlock is better for pass boxes requiring smoother operation, UV lamp, timer, FFU airflow or access control integration.

Q6: Can a pass box include UV sterilization?
Yes. Several SKESD pass box models list UV lamp as available if required.

Q7: Can SKESD customize pass boxes?
Yes. The category page and product pages mention customization and ODM/OEM service. Custom dimensions, material, interlock type, UV lamp and dynamic airflow configuration can be discussed according to cleanroom layout.
